To ensure that we can supply our customers reliably even in these uncertain times, we have taken various measures. For example, the raw material stock was increased early on, sufficient magnesium elements for the alloy were secured and the number of shifts in our extrusion plant and billet foundry was increased.
This allows us to continue to offer short delivery times for press-finished profiles and existing castings. The ability to deliver is also assured at least until the end of the first quarter of 2022.
Background to the shortage on the market: Due to production limitations in China, the availability of the alloying elements silicon (Si) and magnesium (Mg) in Europe is currently limited. In addition, since the beginning of the year there have been shortages of wood, cardboard and chemicals, among others, and cost increases in energy and freight.
