The construction crane is being used to raise part of the existing hall roof in the extrusion plant over an area of 700 m2. In addition, the remaining hall roof of 2'000 m2 will be reinforced and covered with insulated panels to improve the building insulation.
The increase in roof height will create vertical space to add a fourth automatic crane of the latest generation to the existing unmanned intra-logistics system.
With the new automatic crane - in addition to the current 270 parking bays - a further 135 bays can be served. Up to 2 t of customer profiles can be temporarily stored per slot. This will give further buffer capacities for the extrusion press and the packaging line as well as sufficient space for future developments. The installation of the automatic crane will start in October.
