In Liesberg, we extrude aluminium profiles for a wide range of
applications, weighing between 250 g/m and 18 kg/m and ranging in length
from 5 mm to 13 m. A specific example from the IT sector: profiles for
hot- and cold-aisle containment systems in data centres.
Our client,
HELidea, develops highly efficient enclosure systems that effectively separate hot and cold air flows in server rooms. This optimises airflow, improves cooling efficiency and reduces energy consumption during operation. This is a particularly important factor for efficiency and operational reliability in data centres. HELidea has developed a profile groove for these enclosures that eliminates the need for conventional groove nuts. This innovation simplifies assembly and supports an efficient system solution.
For this application, we extrude
aluminium profiles with an exceptionally thin wall thickness of just 1.3 mm. The delicate profile geometry places high demands on tool design, the extrusion process and dimensional accuracy. The low profile weight enables lightweight, efficient structures and simplifies the assembly of the enclosure systems.
Following extrusion, the profiles are
anodised. This is an electrochemical process in which a protective oxide layer is formed directly from the aluminium. This layer is firmly bonded to the base material, making the surface hard and wear-resistant and resulting in a durable, high-quality aluminium component.
Coolly executed: from the feasibility check of the profile drawing through to production, mechanical machining and surface finishing. Aluminium Laufen AG manufactures aluminium profiles to individual customer specifications and ensures compliance with defined quality targets. Thanks to a high degree of automation, we produce cost-effectively, precisely and flexibly – for profiles that reliably fulfil their purpose right from the start.
