For special requirements, we are the only foundry in Switzerland to offer laminar diecasting.
The difference in laminar diecasting process is the slow mould filling with precisely controlled final speed and the high final density. Because of the very low casting speeds, the casts have no flash and there is also no tendency to stick to the mould wall. In addition, alloys can be cast in the laminar diecasting process in the same way as in low pressure diecasting or gravity diecasting. Laminar diecasting is ideal for thin-walled parts with high loads - in the pressure test is 30 % better than that of comparable gravity diecastings. In addition, the finished components are lighter than gravity diecastings.
The advantages of the laminar diecasting process at a glance:
- Heat treatment possible, which improves the mechanical properties
- Weldable
- Alloys can be cast as in low or gravity diecasting
- High final density
- Burr-free castings with uniform wall thickness
- Suitable for thin-walled castings with maximum strength
- Lighter than gravity diecasting
- Economical
