Spotlight on our anniversary celebrants- 5 personal questions for Daliborka Savic

Our committed employees are the real success factor. As part of the ‘5 personal questions for...’ series, we will introduce you to our colleagues in random order.

Today: Daliborka Savic, Packaging department
Her motto: Be brave, be strong, be yourself.

Daliborka, what is your task at Aluminium Laufen?
I work in the packaging department. There we make sure that our aluminium profiles reach the customer without any transport damage. We first check each profile individually for possible surface defects and then wrap it in paper. Then we count the profiles, weigh them and pack them into parcels. Finally, everything goes automatically to the shift supervisor, who prepares everything for transport.

I work with a high level of concentration and with the aim of realising every order in full so that we can give the ‘green light’ for transport. We pack around 2,000 profiles per shift. I'm responsible for small profiles, which are lighter - our profiles are up to 18 kg/m.

What do you particularly enjoy about your day-to-day work?
Teamwork is very important to me - we spend eight hours a day together, which is almost as much time as we spend with our own family. This makes it all the more important for us to feel comfortable as a team and maintain a good working relationship.
For me, a successful working day starts with motivation - and this is created above all when we support each other and treat each other with respect. An open, collegial atmosphere in which we can rely on each other creates a pleasant working atmosphere and a good relationship. And that is what we have and cultivate.

Last year, you celebrated the 10th anniversary of your company. What does this anniversary mean to you?
It is very special for me that I have been part of Alu Laufen for over ten years. Through my many years of service, I have gradually earned the trust of the company, which I greatly appreciate and which I honour with commitment, reliability and loyalty. My personal contribution to the company's success fills me with pride and I am grateful that I have been able and allowed to play my part.

You are also a member of our works council. How did you get involved?
I have been a member of the Works Council for over two years, a role that is very close to my heart. Back then, I was asked by a colleague whether I could imagine getting involved in this committee. As personal dialogue with colleagues has always been important to me, this is an ideal role for me. In my function, I regularly seek dialogue with my colleagues. I listen and ask how they are doing, whether there are any challenges or ideas that we should take up in the works council. We are very motivated to implement improvements.

Finally, a personal question: How do you spend your free time?
I like to do things with my family. At the weekend, we go for long walks and talk about the great things we've done during the week. We also like to go on day trips, for example to Lake Brienz.

If my time allows, I also like to go Zumba dancing at the weekend. I really enjoy it and it's a nice balance to everyday life.

Another project is my little garden with roses. Maybe we'll also plant a small vegetable patch - my two girls would love to help and see how everything grows.

In 2024, Daliborka Savic celebrated her tenth anniversary with the company. She works in the ‘Profile Packaging’ department and not only brings a wealth of experience with her, but also a high level of diligence and team spirit. Her husband and other family members also work in our company - a great sign of solidarity. Working in three shifts, she and her colleagues carefully pack aluminium profiles by hand and ensure that every profile leaves our premises in perfect condition.
