Patrick
Villiger, our CEO, was surprised on his 10th company anniversary with a special
gift made of aluminium.
Our boss is a passionate golfer - so the gift was quickly clear: the colleagues from the foundry department made a 30 cm high golfer for him with a lot of enthusiasm and skills.
First, a hand-carved wooden figure of a golfer from the possession of our Head of Sales Foundry, Production Manager Foundry Dirk Franz was scanned as a mould and a 3-D model was created from it. In the next step, this data was then prepared for casting and a multi-part sand mould was printed, which was composed and cast by hand after the surface had been machined. Finally, the finishing work: the cooled aluminium golfer was then precisely ground and ball polished.
The outcome is impressive, and we have succeeded in creating a surprise.
With our many years of experience and the
three casting processes of gravity die casting, pressure die casting and low-pressure die casting, there are hardly any limits to the design and sizes - we can realise practically any shape. Around 700 tonnes of aluminium are processed in our foundry every year and machined into ready-to-install products. We have equipment and modern CNC machining centres at our disposal for this purpose.
By the way: We educate qualified young people with enthusiasm and commitment and offer, for example, apprenticeships for cast technologists EFZ and cast moulders EFZ (there are free apprenticeship positions starting in August 2023).
