To start things off, our guests were given a tour of the foundry and a practical overview of the processing of molten aluminium. They had the opportunity to get up close and personal with various areas of work and gain an initial insight into the world of work in the metal processing industry.
Afterwards, they were invited to design their own: Under the guidance of our vocational trainer Udo Schwyzer, they made their personal nameplate and an aluminium yo-yo. To do this, they carefully embedded the 3D mould they had created in sand before the mould was cast using the gravitydie casting process.
Joshua, currently our youngest mechanic, and Ennio, our first-year design engineer apprentice, taught the kids a lot of interesting facts about aluminium and its frequent use in everyday life - which surprised some of them.
We are delighted to be able to make an active contribution to career guidance and the promotion of young talent. A big thank you to all our colleagues for organising this event.
