This replacement investment replaces the old 250 t diecasting unit built in 1988. We continue to ensure security of supply for our customers.
In laminar diecasting, the melt is slowly filled into the mould via large gates. This achieves an almost turbulence-free and laminar mould filling and thus prevents gas inclusions. The holding pressure of the diecasting machine can be maintained for a long time and thus possible blowholes can be tightly filled.
Advantages of laminar diecasting components:
- Alloys can be used as in sand and gravity diecasting.
- Castings are weldable
- Heat treatment of the castings is feasible
- Generally good further processing
- Significantly better mechanical properties compared to "normal" high-pressure diecasting
- Higher strength
- Better elongation
Another plus is the traceability of the settings: This diecasting system has a real-time control that automatically reacts to deviations and corrects them immediately.
This results "shot for shot" in high-quality castings, with reproducible quality. The stored algorithms also help us to create optimal casting profiles with shorter cycle times and higher part quality. This is not only indispensable for our customers in the automotive industry.
