We are still able to deliver
The Gulf region accounts for around 8 per cent of global aluminium
production. The war in Iran and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz
have also led to a tense situation with regard to aluminium supplies.
Added to this is the sharp rise in oil and gas prices, which has a direct impact on energy-intensive aluminium production. This is already reflected in higher premiums for ingots and billets as well as rising metal prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME). Future price developments are subject to considerable uncertainty, which is illustrated, among other things, by the high volatility of LME prices.
Aluminium Laufen AG Liesberg produces billets from scrap and ingots in its own recycling centre, enabling us to offer you a high level of supply security even in these times. On request, we will examine the options for hedging raw material prices. We are pleased to assist you.
