Sustainable window materials
Windows have long been more than just functional components. They influence the energy consumption, living comfort and environmental balance of a building for decades and are therefore at the heart of sustainable architecture.
Aluminium windows are extremely durable, dimensionally stable, and almost completely recyclable. Despite their energy-intensive manufacturing process, they offer impressive advantages throughout their entire life cycle – especially when used in large glass surfaces and sophisticated architectural designs.

Alloys with a high proportion of process and recycled scrap or made from primary aluminium with a reduced carbon footprint contribute to sustainability. We currently offer our customers three carbon-reduced alloys.

Wood, wood/aluminium, plastic, or aluminium? The article (in German) ‘Sustainable window materials: What to consider when choosing materials’, published by the Swiss Aluminium Association, provides an impressive description of what is important when choosing materials.
