Independent company

From a business perspective, ecology and social commitment can never be viewed in isolation from economic issues. Ecological management and social justice require sustainable corporate governance. Only a healthy company has the ability to implement these principles in the long term.

Yes to the Liesberg site

Sustainable corporate management begins with the ownership structure and financing of a company. The main shareholders of Aluminium Laufen AG Liesberg are all Swiss private persons and entrepreneurs, often with family roots in the region, who control around 90% of the capital. They pursue a long-term vision for the company and continuously invest in the further development and automation of the business. Even in a tough economic environment, this encourages us in our endeavours to focus on our employees and customers.

Loyalty to suppliers

Sustainable corporate management includes not only stable customer relationships, but also sustainable relationships with suppliers. We have maintained long-term partnerships with our suppliers as equals for decades and offer them a high degree of reliability that has proven itself in our business relationships. Thanks to these good relationships, for example, we were always able to supply our customers even during the Covid crisis, which led to major problems in global supply chains. The supply of raw materials was ensured thanks to long-standing and solid supplier relationships.

Security and investment

Our sustainable corporate management is also characterised by forward-looking planning and action. We look to the future and try to anticipate upcoming events. This includes actively managing our inventories on the one hand and hedging against currency and metal price fluctuations on the other. We also offer our customers the opportunity to hedge against major metal price fluctuations. We also regularly invest in new systems to save resources and materials and to improve efficiency and customer service.

Self-generated solar energy

Our new solar plant has been in operation since the beginning of April 2024. We produce 1.9 gigawatt hours per year on an area of 8,740 m². The solar plant is one of the largest in the Laufental valley. Its annual electricity yield covers the needs of around 550 average single-family homes. This investment in renewable energies is not only a further step on the way to becoming a CO2-neutral industrial company, but also enables us to secure part of our energy costs in the long term.

Sustainability requires solid financing
We are solidly financed and have loyal owners who care about the well-being of the company. Our financial stability and independence therefore form the basis for our sustainable corporate management and our long-term success.
